Wifi signal range boosting
Hello,
I have 2 gites and a live box connection to 1 gite, however the wifi signal isn't strong enough to provide internet to the 2nd unit, about 15m away. I'm happy to have the same SSiD and password for both gites, and google tells me a wifi repeater is the easiest to set up for a non techy person. How do others with 2 properties get wifi to them, I looked at the reviews on the 2 boxes from Orange don't appear to be great, so any help appreciated.

Re: Wifi signal range boosting
Hello @Goosey
Is it possible to pass an ethernet cable between the 2 homes.?
If it's possible, put a wifi access point in the second home, plugged into the box in the first home.
It would be the best solution.
Greetings

Re: Wifi signal range boosting
Hi Daniel
that sounds perfect for my problem, where distance is not a problem, but the walls are about a metre thick and I want a second, mirrored network on the other side of the property.
my question is simply, what is a Wi-fi access point and where do I buy one?
cheers
Phil

Re: Wifi signal range boosting
Hi @Grimsby
"what is a Wi-fi access point".? Look here:
https://www.linksys.com/us/r/what-is-a-wifi-range-extender/what-is-a-wifi-access-point/
"where do I buy one?" :
It depends on the range needed for wifi equipment, and the number of users.
Look for exemple : PA Netgear Dual band 2,4 / 5Ghz Wifi 802.11ac
...but it's necessary to put / pass an ethernet cable between box and PA Wifi, for this equipment.!
