Hello! My friend has the following problem. There is a server. Game server, let’s be honest. Their system allows only limited players to connect to it. Say, he (the friend) has a current IP address. They add it to the database, I suppose, and he can connect to the server using THIS IP. But after 168 hours (or when a router restarts) IP address is changed – the device gets a new one. And of course the just assigned IP is not in the system of the mentioned game server. It means that after each dynamic IP address change it has to be added to the system, otherwise he will not be able to connect. That is why we ask. Can you please provide us with the RANGE, in which this dynamic IP range changes for my friend’s device?

Ok I undestand

Orange or no ISP will never publish his allocated addresses ranges.

You have to use a Dyndns service like No-Ip or Dt-Dns.

Each user will have to register there and create his/her own host. He'll have to declare a host on the service, it will be his/her responsibility to synchronize his /her declared hostname with its actual IP.

You can find update clients on the different sites. But Using a livebox do not require an additionnal client, the livebox itself includes such a client compatible with tose 2 services and DynDns ; but only No-Ip or DtDns provide free accounts.

In your database you will have to register the declared URL's and for each player you'll have to use a command like nslookup (windows) or host (linux) to translate the URL back into actual IP.

It's only some pieces of software. That must not be impossible.
